I first heard Pretty Boy Floyd in the early nineties but it wasn't until last February when they blew Faster Pussycat off the main stage at Rock City that I actually got to see them live. Based on the performance at the Faster Pussycat gig I was really looking forward to this one.

I can't tell you who the first band on were (sorry, I'm getting on a bit now and the memory isn't as good as it used to be). They were OK, not amazing but not bad, a bit more practice and a few more gigs under their belt will help no end.

As I'd arrived at the venue with no idea who the support was it was quite a surprise to find it was Robin Black and the Intergalactic Rock Stars, a band I had been discussing with the other Simon on the way to this very gig. They have been making a few waves in the world of glam rock and Simon had just ordered their CD that very afternoon, coincidence or what. Anyway the boys put on a great show worthy of the praise that is being heaped on them, definitely a band to look out for if you're into Rachel Stamp, Anti-Product etc.

Pretty Boy Floyd took to the stage and the Rock City crowd was, as ever, up for a good time, and the boys did not let them down. As you would expect the set was based around their most popular album "Leather Boyz with Electric Toyz" featuring the classic tracks "48 Hours", "I Wanna Be With You" and "Rock'n'Roll Is Gonna Set The Night On Fire" but there were a few new tracks from a forthcoming release as well as one or two from some of the EP's the band has put out recently.

Overall another great gig, just a shame the DJ in the Rig afterwards couldn't keep the place stomping, it had to be one of the flattest nights in the Rig I've had.
